study Computer Lab

Academic

There are so many reasons why you should come to the Teen Zone after school! Besides the great camaraderie, you can maintain and improve your academic goals – quietly read, study and compare notes. There is also a designated lab just for homework, where you’ll find all the resources you need. At the Teen Zone, young students can get homework assistance and peer tutoring; use the state-of-the-art computer lab and multimedia tools for projects and presentation; prep for the SAT & ACT and fill out college applications; career launch; and earn Power Hour points.

Computer Lab

The Teen Zone has a state-of-the-art computer lab for teens – work on school projects or play the latest online game (parents, there’s an approved list of Internet sites). Integrate your work from the computer lab into other aspects of the Teen Zone and turn regular snapshots into memorable scrapbooks: edit your photos and layout pages before heading to the arts and crafts area to jazz them up.

Leadership

The 4-H Club at the Teen Zone offers many programs to enrich your character – Operation Military Kids, Hero Packs and Purple Camp are just a few. The Boys and Girls Club of America offers leadership opportunities for youth 11-18 – Torch Club for ages 11-13 and Keystone Club for ages 14-18. Active participants are encouraged to attend local and national youth conferences. Become a member at the Teen Zone today!

Citizenship:

Community outreach and ‘Teen Bucks’
Community outreach programs are geared toward enriching our community while offering youth the opportunity to connect with others and fulfill community-service requirements. Possible projects include adopting a street on base, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, mentoring, tutoring and volunteering.
By volunteering and exhibiting positive choices at the Teen Zone, youth can earn Teen Bucks that may be exchanged for prizes.

Basketball Skate Park

Sports & Fitness

The Teen Zone has a full-sized indoor basketball court, as well as an outdoor court. Plus, with a little set up, there’s an indoor volleyball court, too. Just next door is the large youth sports field complex.
Challenge your friends to a run of the obstacle course, which is right outside the Teen Zone’s back door, along with a challenging playground. The covered patio area is the perfect place to relax or enjoy a barbecue. On select summer weekends, the patio becomes the hub for an open-air movie theater.
Late Nights at the Teen Zone are a designated evening of hoops, brackets and food. Get your team together and sign up at the Teen Zone for the next tourney.

Leisure Activities

From drawing, painting, sewing and anything your imagination can come up with, you can create it at the Teen Zone arts and crafts area. Check out the selection of materials and supplies and get started on your project.
If you enjoy the culture and beauty of dance, literature and song, join the Teen Zone on trips to local theaters and studios. Plus, bring your talent to the Teen Zone! Put on a show with the drama club or help host a talent show.
