Relocation Readiness Program

Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is the Number 1 requested installation, and the JBLM Armed Forces Community Service (AFCS) Relocation Readiness Program (RRP) is a comprehensive program designed to assist Service members and Families with transfers and relocations throughout the tour cycle. Services and programs include workshops, counseling and support, pre-move planning, moving, settling into a new community, and more. International Spouse Orientation & Cooking Demonstrations

A quarterly orienation designed to help foreign-born Service members & spouses understand American customs & culture. International spouses share their cultural foods by providing a quarterly cooking demo to the Multicultural forum. Call 253-967-3633 for more information.

Welcome CDs are provided for Service members and Families. They can only be mailed to installations that are located more than 50 miles away. To request a CD, call 253-967-3633.

Hearts Apart/Waiting Families Support Group

The Hearts Apart/Waiting Families Support Group is an outreach program for active duty military Families with Service members on an unaccompanied tour, extended temporary duty or field training exercise. For more information, call 253-967-3633.

Spouses Out On The Town

New to JBLM? Come join Relocation Readiness for a day off the installation touring surrounding cities or Seattle! We venture off site seeing while learning a little history about the area and fun places to visit.  Childcare is offered and vouchers will be disseminated after the tour concludes. Teen’s Turn up for Youth Sponsorship

Newcomer Teens are invited to attend a Teen sponsorship event. Teens will be assigned a sponsor and receive a tour of the installation, Lakewood Town Center and go on a community outing. Contact Parent Central Services to register at 253-966-2977.
